CURRENT OUTREACHWe are the founding sponsors for the Cub Scout Pack that currently meets at the Manatee Elementary School. MISSIONS WE SUPPORTViera Christian Church supports five mission enterprises. These are in Malawi, Africa; Miami, FL; Beauchamp, Haiti; Amazon Valley, Brazil; and Mason, OH. The John Bliffen family are our Missionaries in Memphis, TN. They serve at Mid-South Christian College in the area of Church Relations, and preparing Hispanic students for the Ministry. They also continue ministering with Churches in Uruguay, in Cuba, in Ecuador, and in several Hispanic Churches in the United States. The Binoy Thomas family are our newest Missionary family. Binoy was born in India, but lived most of his early life in New York. When he became a Christian, he decided to return to India as a Missionary. After meeting his wife, Rebecca, in Africa they have returned to India full-time. They live and work in Cochin, Kerala, South India. For the last seven years they have been involved in learning the Malayalam language, translating & printing Bible study booklets & resources into the Indian language, so that every Indian can be Biblically educated in his or her own language. The Rod Anderson family is leading our Mission work in the Amazon Valley of Brazil. They help several Churches individually and lead larger gatherings. They also help train the Church leaders. Alfred Kachipeso and his family are native Africans. Alfred leads a training mission for other African Ministers and helps many Churches in the area around Blantyre, Malawi. Lee Mason is the director of The Christian Restoration Association. He is also the editor of the national monthly publication "Restoration Herald". The Association has a number of Evangelists who lead revivals, establish new Churches, and help weaker Churches through difficult times. The Association also has a fund which makes loans to new Churches. We are the beneficiaries of this fund, having borrowed money to purchase our property and to pay for some of the design of our building. |
